Norwich City have still a long way to go to secure a promotion playoff berth in the Championship but their recent surge in form suggests that they are set for a favourable cup run as well as a league accomplishment.

The Canaries are unbeaten in their last four fixtures as they registered victories over Millwall, Luton Town and Coventry City with a draw versus QPR.

Norwich have shown themselves to be high high-scoring outfit this campaign as they have netted 16 times in their previous six home games across all competitions.

The Norfolk-based club do not hold a good record in the competition as they have been knocked out seven times in the third round the last 11 seasons while they reached the fourth last campaign before being thrown out by Liverpool.

Meanwhile, Brighton come into this match on the back of a winless run which has stretched to eight consecutive games. They last emerged victorious in November against Bournemouth with a 2-1 scoreline. However, six of their matches in the run have ended in a stalemate.

Fabian Hurzeler’s team are the favourites for this weekend’s fixture as they have considerable firepower in the likes of Danny Welbeck and Joao Pedro. They should not have much difficulty in finding the net as Norwich have a disastrous defensive record, having just two clean sheets in their previous 17 matches.

The Seagulls were succesful to hold an in-form Arsenal side to a draw despite going down early due to an Ethan Nwaneri goal. Pedro struck in the 61st minute thanks to a penalty to steal a point against The Gunners.

Norwich and Brighton have met each other eight times since 2014 and the latter edge the head-to-head stats with three wins to the former’s two.

Welbeck is a doubt and Jack Hinshelwood is set to start.
