Turf Moor Stadium, also known as Turf Moor or simply the Turf, is an football ground situated in Burnley, Lancashire.

For over a century, it has been the home of Burnley F.C., one of the oldest Football League clubs in England.

The stadium features four stands: the James Hargreaves Stand (previously known as the Bob Lord Stand or simply the ‘Lords’), which is situated on one side; and three enclosed stands that hug each corner – renamed ‘Jimmy McIlroy’, ‘Harry Potts’ and ‘Longside’.

All four stands have been renovated in recent years to provide a modern touch to the traditional ground.

The James Hargreaves stand, dedicated to Burnley’s former chairman, holds around 6,400 seats across five tiers, with executive boxes offering additional luxury seating for corporate guests as well as suites for hospitality packages.

The side covered Longside stand accommodates about 4,600 seats which are further divided into two tiers; while another 6,000 seats can be found in both end stands (McIlroy Stand and Harry Potts Stand), which are both part covered but equipped with two distinct upper tiers respectively.

Visitors will find great historical reference within the grounds such as statues commemorating two of its most famous managers – Jimmy McIlroy and former England manager Harry Potts – who have managed Burnley between 1949-1966 and 1966-1970 respectively.

There are also 11 mosaic boards located around many of its entrances that depict images showcasing some of Burnley’s most famous moments throughout history along with official club badges adorned on various points in its concourse areas.

Turf Moor seating plan North Stand

The North Stand was renovated in the summer of 2013.

It is now a two tier stand, with a large section of executive hospitality seating to the front, and open seating to the rear.

This stand accommodates around 5,000 fans, and is the home of away supporters.

Within this stand you can find areas such as the Westmorland Bar (formerly David Fishwick), the 1882 Lounge, The Blues Guest House and Lecky’s Premium Seating area.

Families are welcome in all areas with discounted seats in designated family areas when available. The North Stand has full disabled access and wheelchair bays throughout.

What was the Turf Moor stadium expansion?

The latest expansion saw the installation of a replacement 2,800-seat stand as a part of a wider redevelopment project at Turf Moor Stadium.

This replaced an outdated wooden stand and provided additional capacity to the ground while making it much more modernised.

This expansion also saw improved access points around the entire stadium with better seating and disabled access.

Food outlets were also upgraded to meet modern expectations with plentiful options available for all spectators whether they are sitting still or on the move.

The pitch at Turf Moor is 110 x 75 yards (101 x 69 metres) in size and features two flip-up seating enclosures at either end, providing additional space for up to 5,000 people.

The surface also boasts some of the most advanced drainage systems around allowing games even in difficult weather conditions.
